In this 2004 documentary Robert McNamara, a key architect of the US war in Vietnam, speaks retrospectively in assessment of the American and Johnson administration policy in Southeast Asia.  Robert McNamara (1916 – 2009) died this past summer.  As the United States faces questions about Afghanistan, we can ask are there parallels in the military experience of the U.S. in the 1960’s with our current situation? NOTE: “Fog of war” describes an ambiguity in situational awareness experienced by participants in military  operations.Related documentary video online:
