Music Sublime on Los Angeles Streets! ”The Soloist” (2008) is the story of the friendship of Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez and Nathaniel Ayers, an aged music prodigy who had studied music at the prestigious Juilliard School, now a homeless and genius street musician suffering from schizophrenia. The film is based on the book “The Soloist: A Lost Dream, an Unlikely Friendship, and the Redemptive Power of Music”, authored by Steve Lopez.
Dr. Joanne Hsu will introduce and lead the discussion following the film.
