Film: Consuming Kids
Wednesday, April 1 at 12:30pm Katy Cyber Lounge
On Wednesday, April 1, Pandora’s Box Continuing education class will view the film Consuming Kids. This film is an eye-opener. Marketers have used advances in psychology, anthropology, and neuroscience to transform American children into consumers. One result: an impact on their health and well-being. Anyone who has children or was once a child (does that leave anyone out?), should see this. Kimber Gross will lead discussions on this.

Film: End of America
Wednesday March 25 at 12:30pm Katy CyberLounge
What keeps a democracy on track? What can derail it? On Wednesday, March 25, Pandora’s Box Continuing Education class looks at End of America. In an indictment of policy changes during the Bush administration, author Naomi Wolf (The Beauty Myth) makes a chilling case that American democracy is under threat. Investigating the rise of dictators in once-free societies, Wolf uncovers a number of unsettling similarities—from the use of paramilitary groups and secret prisons to the targeted suspension of the rule of law. Government professor Gary LeBlanc will introduce the film and lead discussions afterward.
