Alan Runyan on the Open Source Software Movement

Alan Runyan is founder and lead architect of the Plone content management system, an award-winning open source project. Plone is used to power web sites in the business, government, education and non-profit sectors.
In Texas, Plone users include Governor Rick Perry, NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Continental Airlines and Rice University. Houston Community College uses Plone to power The Learning Web, a community web site where faculty and staff maintain their own web pages.
Alan is also the CEO and President of Enfold Systems, a Houston-based company. Enfold provides open source content management solutions for Windows using Zope and Plone.
He talks about this new model for companies- the marrying of open source software to traditional business services- and many other thought-provoking ideas in this engaging account of the open source software movement.
